Cannabis is a plant that has been used for many years as an alternative treatment for pain relief. The THC in cannabis can be effective to reduce chronic and acute pain, but CBD oil, or cannabidiol, is another part of the plant that may also help with your pain management. This blog post will discuss how CBD oil can provide you with different benefits and what to expect if you use it regularly.
In the simplest terms, CBD oil is a highly concentrated liquid that contains cannabidiol (CBD). This extract from cannabis plants can be mixed with other oils such as coconut and hemp seed.
Even though research on CBD oil has been limited to date, preliminary findings suggest that it could be a promising treatment option for those with rheumatoid arthritis (RA), as well as patients who are receiving palliative care and individuals diagnosed with multiple sclerosis.
CBD oil and CBD tincture may be used interchangeably, but their manufacturing process is quite different. For example, a popular way to make tinctures involves soaking the cannabis plant in high-proof alcohol before applying low heat over an extended period. Producers often enhance this preparation with carrier oils or other ingredients like orange oil for flavor enhancement purposes as well!
The tincture comes with a dropper so that patients can easily measure their dose. Patients can add droplets to food or beverages, but many people choose to also administer it sublingually or under the tongue for faster absorption into the body.
CBD oils, on the other hand, are usually taken in a capsule or sublingually. CBD vape oil can be administered in any number of ways; however, it generally refers to pre-packaged (vape cartridges) and is designed for vaping.
The right dose of THC is different for everyone. Generally, patients will start with a higher dosage than they would with THC because it’s harder to determine the exact amount that works best in your system when you’re not smoking or vaping cannabis. While patients may begin with as little as 2.5 mg or 5mg per day, most people can tolerate 25-50mg without feeling too high and some need doses even higher than this depending on their tolerance level and what symptoms are being treated.
If you’re not finding relief at 25mg, gradually increase the dose in 5 or 10 mg increments until your sweet spot is found. Some patients may need as much as 200mg per day and if that doesn’t help CBD oil with THC might be a better option for them.
